Where to Celebrate Independence Day in Orlando

Where to Celebrate Independence Day in Orlando

Independence Day is coming up pretty quickly, but there is still plenty of time to make plans that guarantee festive fun for the whole family! From Disney World to Lake Eola, check out how Orlando is celebrating the Fourth of July this year!

Walt Disney World Resort

Because Walt Disney World typically goes above and beyond for most holidays, it’s not surprising that Independence Day will be celebrated in different capacities all across the resort.

Magic Kingdom’s annual fireworks show with a patriotic soundtrack, Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky, will return on July 3 and 4. The Muppets Present…Great Moments in American History will be back in Liberty Square, where Miss Piggy, Kermit, Fozzie Bear, and other Muppet buddies reenacting famous moments in American history.  You can also enjoy DJ Dance Parties in Frontierland and Tomorrowland throughout the day.

At Epcot, the nightly showing of Illuminations: Reflections of Earth will include a special finale on July 4th that “paints the sky red, white, and blue” beginning at 9 PM. The Voices of Liberty will perform classic Americana songs on the America Gardens Theatre stage at 5:30 PM, 6:45 PM, and 8 PM. You can also meet your favorite Disney characters dress in their Independence Day best throughout the day at the American Adventure.

For a festive sweet treat, head to Disney’s Animal Kingdom to try the Fourth of July cupcakes with an apple pie filling at Creature Comforts. At Disney Springs, you can find delights like patriotic dipped strawberries and Mickey/Minnie Mouse mini dome cakes at Amorette’s Patisserie.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios does not have any Independence Day celebrations scheduled, but if you find yourself at that park on the 4th you can still enjoy an amazing fireworks display! Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular will begin at 10 PM on July 4 and although it doesn’t feature any patriotic elements, it does have an all-new sequence from Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Outside of the parks, several resorts have exciting things planned for America’s birthday. At Disney’s Boardwalk Resort, you can grab a sparkly red, white, and blue coconut macaroon dipped in white chocolate at Boardwalk Bakery.

Over at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, the whole day is jam packed with special events! The excitement begins at 7:30 AM with the Fourth of July 5k. Preregistration for runners is open til June 30, available from 9 AM – 5 PM daily at the Fort Wilderness Bike Barn. On race day, you can still register starting at 7 AM in the field next to Mickey’s Backyard BBQ. Next up is the Fourth of July Golf Cart Parade, starting at 4 PM. You can register your golf cart til June 30 at Fort Wilderness Bike Barn from 9 AM to 5 PM daily. Finally, end the night with a Beach Bash at Clemetine’s Beach from 6 Pm – 11 PM. The celebration will include a live DJ, dancing, games and contests, a movie, and more. Partygoers can dine on offerings from the Fort Wilderness Food Truck during bash.

LEGOLAND Florida Resort

Red, White and BOOM! at LEGOLAND Florida features several patriotic LEGO activities all throughout the park on July 4. Participate in a park-wide LEGO build of an American flag or get competitive at the Patriotic Competition Build, both in MINILAND USA. Then head to the KIDZ BOP Stadium for the Brick & Boom Fireworks Celebration, the biggest fireworks show of the year! In addition to festive activities, you can celebrate with patriotic treats like Firecracker Funnel Cake, Freedom Churros, and All-American Dipped Ice Cream Cones. Catch all this and more from 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM on July 4.

Prior to the fireworks finale, you can enjoy everything that SeaWorld Electric Ocean has to offer, including exclusive animal shows, family dance parties, special dining options, and free beer! All of the park’s festivities are included with regular admission.

Busch Gardens Tampa

You can sped the early afternoon/evening riding the rollercoasters as the sun goes down, dancing in themed party zones all around the park, and indulging in exclusive Summer menus before heading to Gwazi field for an extended fireworks shoe with a patriotic medley!
