A Guide to Orlando’s 2016 Halloween Theme Park Events

Orlando’s theme parks not only offer world class entertainment for all ages, they also host seasonal holiday events that everyone should experience at least one time! With the holidays approaching faster than light speed, planning your seasonal getaway means choosing the best events in which to indulge whether you’re experiencing the magic at Walt Disney World, delighting in Universal’s thrilling attractions or even immersing yourself in SeaWorld’s animal experiences. With Halloween fast approaching, we want to show you some of the top Halloween experiences and what you can expect at Orlando’s theme parks.

Halloween Horror Nights

As the nation’s premier Halloween event, Halloween Horror Nights pretty much defines what it means to be scared! As the sun sets, the streets of Universal Studios Florida come alive with hordes of terrifying monsters, mutants and maniacs as they chase you through the park in an immersive and nightmarish experience. Traverse the haunted houses that bring your favorite horror films and franchises to life; this year the houses include The Walking Dead, The Exorcist, American Horror Story, Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Krampus, and three completely original stories. These original stories include Tomb of the Ancients, Ghost Town: The Curse of Lightning Gulch, and Lunatics Playground 3D: You Won’t Stand a Chance. If you’re headed to Universal Orlando to experience Halloween Horror Nights, keep in mind that no costumes or masks are allowed to be worn inside the park!

If you plan on dressing up, costumes must be family-friendly in nature and may not be obstructive, offensive, violent or objectionable. For guests under the age of 13, some masks may be worn as long as they don’t cover the entire face and eyes are visible.  Enjoy a finale where your favorite Disney villains gather to celebrate Halloween and where fireworks light up the sky in a spectacular conclusion. You can also catch Mickey’s “Boo-to-You” Halloween parade as Mickey and friends don their favorite costumes and walk through Main Street U.S.A.; you’ll even catch a glimpse of the Headless Horseman!
