Adults Do Disney: Best Spots to Grab a Cool Drink in the Summer

Adults Do Disney: Best Spots to Grab a Cool Drink in the Summer

Summer is in full swing here in Central Florida and temperatures are regularly climbing well past the 90s. Water is an absolute must, but for the 21+ crowd a little alcoholic refreshment may be a welcomed relief during your hot, crowded theme park visit. Here are some of our favorite places around Walt Disney World to quench that thirst.

Epcot is home to the well-known “Drink Around the World” game and is the international culture hotspot at Disney, so you’re going to find the most diverse beverage options here. Arguably the most popular place for a refreshing drink is La Cava in the Mexico Pavilion where bartenders here serve up made-from-scratch margaritas using a variety of fresh ingredients. A perennial favorite is the avocado margarita, but those with less adventurous palates can find more traditional, and just as tasty options as well.

Over in the Animal Kingdom, Dawa Bar is serving up a great selection of adult beverages. An especially great option to enjoy during the summertime is one of their various frozen drinks. If you’re less interested in cocktails, Dawa Bar also offers a unique “beermosa”, beer mixed with orange and pineapple juices. The bar is also known for their Bloody Mary menu, offering many variations of the classic cocktail.

Heading outside of the parks to the sprawling marketplace of Disney Springsyou’ll find many great options for your day-drinking desires. Two recommended spots are Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar and Raglan Road. At Jock’s you’ll find a fantastic selection of fun cocktails, beer and in an Indian Jones-themed setting. Take the opportunity to cool off with a drink while looking at the incredibly detailed props and decorations inside the bar. Even the menu is tied into the theme with little notes throughout the pages describing Jock’s many adventures, both solo and with Indy!

Head over to Raglan Road’s outdoor bar for a cold Guinness, or choose a beverage off their extensive menu of Irish, European and American beers, including local and craft varieties. There are also beer flights available for the indecisive beer drinker. Each night, live music and dance performers are there to entertain you while you sip.

No matter where you are around the Walt Disney World resort area, you’ll find plenty of grown-up drink options. As always though, stay hydrated with good ol’ H2O and take frequent breaks in the shade to avoid overheating.
