The Final Days of Disney Quest

The Final Days of Disney Quest

The renovation overhaul that transformed Downtown Disney into the expansive new Disney Springs began in 2013 and is the first redesign project in the area since 1997. Major changes to the area included the expansion to the mall, nearly doubling it in size, 150 new restaurants and shops, and the addition of two new parking structures,

Disney Springs’ massive makeover continues this summer in the West Side district, starting with the closing of Disney Quest. Although it was announced that the interactive attraction would close in 2015, it officially closes its doors to the public on July 3, 2017. The five-story house of attractions opened on June 19, 1998 in Downtown Disney West. The indoor theme park was ahead of its time, unlike any other sort of arcade or fun house. In addtition to the classic games found in most arcades, Disney Quest is 100,000 square feet full of virtual reality and fantasy adventure games like the very popular Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for Buccaneer Gold and Aladdin’s Magic Carpet Ride.

Once closed, renovations to convert the 19-year-old attraction into the brand new “NBA Experience” are expected to begin immediately. In this new venture, guests will be immersed in a one-of-a-kind experience for basketball fans of all ages. Plans for the NBA Experience include many interactive features and video productions, as well as a restaurant and a retail store, all designed to put fans right into the action. The official opening date is still TBD.

Those hoping to visit Disney Quest one last time before it closes can enjoy the building’s four zones full of games and adventures for one more week. Get discount tickets for Disney Quest and other Walt Disney World parks on blog.tickets2you.com!
