Disney’s Speedway Closing

Disney’s Speedway Closing

The Richard Petty Driving Experience and the Exotic Driving Experience are packing up and moving due to Walt Disney World® Resorts confirmation of the Mickey Speedway track closing on June 30, 2015. Disney is planning to use this expansive area to improve their transportation, forcing NASCAR and adrenaline junkies to search for another spot to get their race on in Orlando.

The speedway has been open since 1996 and has held four years of live action races until it was converted into a thrilling attraction and exhilarating tourist destination. Disney has yet to release their transportation plans for the site. Those who have already scheduled their race experience for a date after the closing on June 30 will have to reschedule their high speed experience at another one of the 14 locations. One of these locations is the historic Daytona 500 speedway.

The professional driving experience companies are on the hunt for another speed track location in Orlando. With the area’s fast paced development, these expert speed driving companies may be in a impossible race for land in the nation’s leading tourist destination. If you were hoping to test out the track on Disney Speedway you have only a few more months to make this dream come true! Reservations are required for the Richard Petty Driving Experience and Exotic Driving Experience.
