4 Disney Cost-Saving Tips You MUST Know

4 Disney Cost-Saving Tips You MUST Know

Vacation season is quickly approaching, but what if you could save money on your next Walt Disney World vacation? For those of you planning your next Disney vacation, or even if you’ve got one coming up this summer, we are here to help you get the most out of your vacation dollars with these money-saving tips.

1. Skip the souvenirs. Or, shop outside of Disney. A major cost of going to Disney is buying keepsakes and other memorabilia that are part of the full experience of being at the “Happiest Place on Earth”. While t-shirts, mugs, key chains and other trinkets could be purchased at Disney, they usually come with a pretty significant markup. There are literally dozens of shops around Disney and the central Florida area that offer the very same gear at a fraction of the cost. There’s no reason to pay full price if you can get the exact same thing for less elsewhere.

2. Bring your own drinks and food. At the height of the summer season in Central Florida, temperatures routinely reach the triple digits. It is common for guests to Orlando, to feel like they’ve stepped into the Sahara Desert humid style. When you’re competing against thirst and dehydration, it is easy to reach out to the countless number of drink vendors at the Park to make sure you stay cool and comfortable. With drink prices hovering steady around $3, it is easy to put a dent into your wallet very quickly. A great way to combat this is to buy a large flat of water (24 bottles should do the trick), and freeze as much of it as possible. Pack a couple of backpacks, which the family can take turns carrying, and when it comes time to quench your thirst, the water will be cool to the touch and not frozen.

3. Plan your vacation during the low season. Speaking of the hot Florida summer, many guests make it a point to travel to Florida during this time. In the hospitality industry, this is known as the “high” season. It is the time of year when hotel rooms are the most expensive. This is mostly due to the demand that Parks like Disney see from the public who is so eager to visit. A way to save is to book your vacation during the “low” season, usually during the winter months when parks like Disney are not as busy and less prone to the massive congestion that occurs in the summer. With most families who visit Disney coming from outside of the state, the slight chill of a January visit will still feel like T-Shirt weather to most people utilizing this tip. This move alone is bound to save a family of four a few hundred dollars at least.

4.Buy Multi-Day Tickets and buy online. Discounted single-day tickets simply don’t exist, no matter who you ask. However, the more days you purchase, the less you can pay per day. Disney tickets can cost $100+ for one day, but if you buy park hopper tickets or multi-day tickets, you can save upwards of nearly $50 per ticket or per day. Walt Disney World is a wonderful place that every kid wants to visit and every parent wants to make that dream a reality. It can be costly to visit, but it doesn’t have to be. Hopefully, now armed with these quick little tips, it will be much easier to plan a visit to this magical place. We hope to see you soon!
