  • September 14 – 16, 20 – 23, & 28 – 30
  • October 3 – 7, 10 – 14, 17 – 21, 24 – 28, & 31

Haunted Houses

Stranger Things

Netflix phenomenon Stranger Things is making its HHN debut with a haunted house that represents some of the most iconic scenes, settings, and characters from the show’s first season. The maze follows the Stranger Things storyline, starting off on Mirkwood and going through familiar areas like the Hawkins National Laboratory and the mysterious “Upside Down” while being hunted by the demogorgon.

Dead Exposure: Patient Zero at Halloween Horror Nights

The Dead Exposure house is also new addition to the horror fest, set in Paris in 1982 as “the city of lights has gone dark and chaos spreads, unchecked”. Brave guests will try to escape the grasp of vicious flesh eating zombies who are loose on the streets as the military tries to force them into quarantine. There is a solution to ward off the sickness the undead characters are carrying: a vaccine than may result in blindness!

Trick ‘r’ Treat Maze

Last year’s surprise fan favorite Trick’R’Treat house will be back this year with four different stories loosely intertwined that depict the different sets of characters’ journeys on Halloween night. The maze recreates some of the cult classic horror film’s most memorable scenes and characters, displaying the dark Halloween traditions of Warren Valley, Ohio. Iconic moments include watching college students turning into werewolves, walking through Mr. Kreeg’s house, and a close encounter with Sam, the Spirit of Halloween.

Slaughter Sinema

The Slaughter Sinema house features an original storyline with a variety of 80’s B-movie monsters and creatures haunting a local drive-in theater. Parkgoers will get an idea of what’s to come as they walk toward the house while movie trailers showcase the terrors that await them. Some creepy characters include werewolf bikers, a bloody pumpkin, deadly barbers, aliens, and a terrifying swamp yeti.

Carnival Graveyard: Rust In Pieces

Also a Universal Studios original is the all new Carnival Graveyard house, set in an old dilapidated carnival filled with vicious guard dogs, a terrifying “tunnel of love” and tons of creepy performers with weapons in hand.

Seeds of Extinction

The Seeds of Extinction haunted house is set on Earth right after a giant meteor has wreaked havoc on the planet, leaving behind humanoid plants, strangling vines, deadly flowers, and other horrors that have wiped out the human race and turned Earth into a plant covered wasteland.

Poltergeist

The iconic 80s horror film Poltergeist is coming to life at Halloween Horror Nights, filling the Freeling family house with floating furniture, ghosts, and a terrifying clown. Guests will have to race past several chilling elements from the movie in an effort to escape back into the land of the living before they’re trapped forever.

Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers

Michael Myers is back at Halloween Horror Nights with an all-new Halloween 4 themed haunted house, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the horror flick. This terrifying maze features Myers hiding in the shadows of Haddonfield after escaping during a prison transfer. No one that crosses his path is safe as he tears through the town on the hunt for his niece.

Horrors of Blumhouse

The all-new Horrors of Blumhouse haunted house will feature scenes from popular horror films like Happy Death Day and The First Purge, with guests having to escape villains like the Babyface Killer and mobs of Purgers. First, experience the horror of a college student repeatedly reliving her death while trying to escape the masked killer dressed like the college mascot. Then, reminisce on the first Purge and what happened when the whole nation was allowed to commit crimes for one night. As soon as those sirens blare, all bets are off and no one is safe!

ScaryTales: Deadly Ever After

The final haunted house is influenced by classic fairytales, but there’s no such thing as “Happily Ever After” here. In this house, watch as beloved storybook characters are tortured in terrifying alternate storylines filled with evil. There are nightmares waiting in every corner of this maze, controlled by the Wicked Witch of the East.

Scare Zones

In addition to the haunted houses, five scare zones with take over the streets of Universal Studios keeping in theme of 1980’s horror.

  • Vamp 85: new year’s eve: “ravenous punk, material girl, and metal head vampires”
  • Twisted Tradition: “rotted pumpkins and fetid vines who are seeking out human sacrifices”
  • The Harvest: “foul and decrepit creatures”
  • Revenge of Chucky: chucky is causing mayhem in the streets of universal. In a haunting toy fair with terrifying versions of popular childhood toys; “possessed toy like murderous monkeys, a board game turned deadly, and more” and of course come to face with the scariest doll in the world
  • Killer Klowns From Outer Space: “interstellar circus tent”; filled with terrifying clowns from the popular horror sci fi film; sweet smell of cotton candy tricks guests into coming inside but then the quest to excape killer clowns and their ray guns ensues
