Know Before You Go: Park Updates for September 2018

We’re officially in the first month of fall, which of course means it’s Halloween season in Orlando. Kicking off the holiday season, practically every theme park has at least one seasonal celebration taking over this month. Keep reading for more info about all the festivals you don’t want to miss!

What’s New

  • The Minnie Vans car service, powered by Lyft, has extended to Port Canaveral. Starting September 1, guests who have included a cruise in their Disney World vacation can utilize the vans to get from their resort to the port.   • Vampirina makes her Disney World debut on September 30 when she replaces Jake the pirate at the Disney Junior Play’N’Dine at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The little vampire will also be replacing Jake at the character meet and greets in Animation Courtyard and will be featured in the upcoming Disney Junior Live Show.

Attraction Updates

  • Disney Junior: Live On Stage has its final performance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on September 1. It will be replaced by Disney Junior Dance Party.
  • The Uzima Springs Pool & Pool Bar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge will be closed for refurbishments from September 4 – December 4.
  • The Gardens course at Disney’s Fantasia Garden Miniature Golf will be closed from September 4 through September. The Fantasia Fairways course will remain open to the public during this time.
  • Islands of Adventure’s 19 year old “Eighth Voyage of Sinbad” stunt show will end its run at Universal Orlando on September 15.

Special Events

  • Epcot‘s International Food and Wine Festival is in full swing, running daily through November 11.
  • The all-new Fiesta Aquatica celebration begins on September 1 at SeaWorld’s Aquatica!
  • The Edison, located in The Landing at Disney Springs, is hosting “A Gatsby Evening” on Labor Day Weekend. The special tickets event takes guests back to the 1920s with flying aerial performers, flapper dancers, cigar rollers and other throwback entertainers for an evening of old school fun.   • Electric Ocean ends at SeaWorld Orlando on September 3.
  • Rock the Universe takes place at Universal Orlando on September 7 and 8.
  • Halloween Horror Nights kicks off at Universal Orlando on September 14. The annual fright fest will run on select dates through November 3.
  • An encore of Praise Wave at SeaWorld Orlando will take place on September 15 and September 22.
  • Howl-O-Scream begins at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay on September 21.
  • SeaWorld Orlando‘s Halloween Spooktacular offers a family-friendly celebration every weekend starting September 22.
