Future builders and programmers can now sharpen their skills at LEGOLAND Florida’s free Mindstorms program! The immersive workshop, sponsored by Microsoft, gives kids the opportunity to explore cutting edge technology during 45 minute sessions in the park’s Imagination Zone.
Guest who are 8 years old or older join LEGO base as brand new Space Cadets, building and programming computerized robots, rovers and more with the help of Microsoft Surface Pros. Then, take your creation on an awesome mission such as piloting your LEGO Mindstorms Ev3 robot to save a nearby space station or traveling through time to the year 2025 on a Mars Expedition.
There is a program available for the younger cadets-in-training as well. Kids 6 years old and older can build and program planetary robots using LEGO Education WeDo 2.0 to help discover life on other planets.
Each class has its own theme like building a robot doctor, building a crocodile, or programming a robot that will take on some challenges. You can get more information on the different Mindstorms classes or sign up for a session at the information desk in the Imagination Zone.
Classes tend to fill up quickly, so it’s recommended to head to the back of the park to sign up as soon as you arrive at the park for the day. The Mindstorms classroom is located next to Build & Test and Hero Factory inside the Imagination Zone building.
