Celebrate Mardi Gras at Universal Orlando!

Ready to let the good times roll? You can celebrate Mardi Gras at Universal Orlando daily starting February 6! During the festival, you’ll experience authentic Mardi Gras entertainment such as street performers, music, and tons of beads. The Carnaval-inspired celebration also includes international cuisine from Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, Germany, Spain, and other regions.

A variety of festival locations around the park are serving up delicious international flavors during Mardi Gras at Universal Orlando! Tasting menus include incredible food and beverage offerings inspired by Carnaval-style celebrations from around the world.

Mardi Gras Tasting Lanyards

Save money when you sample the international food and drink offerings by purchasing a tasting lanyard. For $55, you can sample ten different items from any festival location. Annual passholders have access to an exclusive lanyard including 15 samples for $65. Lanyards can be purchased at all tasting locations or the Universal Studios Reservation Cart.

Mardi Gras Entertainment

Although parades are still not running due to COVID-19 precautions, Mardi Gras floats can still be seen during the event. In addition to Universal’s classic floats, several pirate treasure-themed floats will be on display around the park.

Three of those floats will be located at Music Plaza Stage. The outdoor courtyard is decorated with twinkling lights and serves as the perfect place to sit back and enjoy some of the incredible festival eats.

Mardi Gras Tribute Store

The Mardi Gras Tribute Store features exclusive merchandise, themed rooms, awesome photo ops, and more. Some of the room themes include:

  • A 1920s jazz parlor, complete with dueling pianos and brass
  • A nautical cemetery filled with flowers, where many sea captains are buried
  • A waterfront warehouse filled with stolen treasures
  • A swamp illuminated by fireflies, where remnants of infamous pirate Jean Lafitte’s ship “The Pride” can be found.

In addition to the international food stations around the park, the tribute store will also have festive food offerings available for purchase. Guests can indulge in King Cake, praline cookies, moon pies, mixed berry sour gummy skulls, and more!

Mardi Gras Scavenger Hunt

Cost: $7.95

To participate in the Mardi Gras scavenger hunt, start by purchasing your map at select gift shops at Universal Studios. Then, be on the lookout for skeletons wearing Mardi Gras-themed outfits in 12 participating locations around the park. When you spot each skeleton, ask a cast member to stamp the corresponding location on your map. When you’ve collected an “X” on all 12 spots, take your map to Silver Screen Collectables to claim your treasure!
