The Best Places to Ring in the New Year in Orlando

Because it’s one of the biggest party nights of the year, it’s never too early to start making your New Year’s Eve celebration plans! Whether you’d like to get dressed to the nines for a night of dancing, want to kick back and party with friends, or celebrate as a family, there are plenty of awesome ways to end 2018 in Orlando.

Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World hosts a wide variety of celebrations all across the resorts, with festive fun in the parks and special events at resort hotels.

Magic Kingdom Celebrations

At Magic Kingdom, you can start your NYE celebrations with dance parties in Frontierland and Tomorrowland, both beginning at 7:00 PM on December 30 and 31. On both evenings, the night ends with a stunning display of fireworks in the special Fantasy in the Sky spectacular that lights up the sky at 11:50 PM.

Epcot Fireworks

At Epcot, you can ring in the new year several times throughout the evening. A special announcement and fireworks display will appear every time the clock strikes midnight in each of the 11 countries represented in the World Showcase. There will also be lively themed events in several pavilions around the showcase and live music on stage at the America Gardens Theatre. Then, at 11:40 PM the park’s evening spectacular “Illuminations: Reflections of Earth” will begin on the World Showcase lagoon before the official countdown to 2019 begins and a stunning fireworks finale celebrates the new year.

New Year’s Eve Dinner at La Hacienda De San Angel

In Epcot’s Mexico pavilion, guests can reserve their spot at a five course prix fixe dining experience at La Hacienda de San Angel, featuring a live mariachi band and stellar views of the evening’s fireworks displays. Indulge in delicious food and beverages including a welcome margarita, tquila and appetizer pairings, and a glass of wine that complements the main Surf & Turf course. This event takes place from 9:30 PM to 1:00 AM.


Lunch/Dinner at Monsieur Paul

Monsieur Paul, in Epcot’s France pavilion, will be offering six seating times on New Year’s Eve in the restaurant’s elegant upper level dining room with a four-course prix fixe menu featuring classic French cuisine. Available seating times are:

  • 11:45 AM
  • 12:00 PM
  • 2:15 PM
  • 2:45 PM
  • 5:45 PM
  • 6:15 PM

Cost: $110.81 per person

There will also be a special late-night dinner at Monsieur Paul with two seatings (8:45 PM and 9:45 PM) that has an enhanced French menu, including Chef Paul Bocuse’s Soupe aux Truffles V.G.E.

Disney’s Boardwalk Hotel

For a special New Year’s Eve dinner, you can make reservations for a prix fixe meal at Flying Fish on Disney’s Boardwalk. There are two seating times available, 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM or 8:30 PM – 10:00 PM, and the second seating includes intermezzo and a sustainable seafood tower in addition to the multi-course dinner. The prix fixe menu includes:

  • Amuse: Balyk Cut Artic Char Canape (can be ordered as a vegetarian dish without the Arctic Char), Sustainable Seafood Tower (second seating only)
  • First Course (Choose One): Aged Cognac Lemon Bisque or Hand-Carved Yellowfin Ahi Tuna Combo
  • Second Course (Choose One): Painted Huron Lettuces or Gallete of Dungeness Crab

If you’re 21 or older, you can ring in 2019 at the New Year’s Eve Bash at Atlantic Dance Hall, located at Disney’s Boardwalk Hotel. The bash starts at 8:00 PM and offers dancing, delicious food & drinks, and spectacular views of Epcot’s fireworks. A DJ will spin fun party music all night long as guests sip on cocktails and enjoy treats from a light bite menu, including:

  • Assorted Antipasto & Charcuterie
  • A Variety of Dips with Raw Veggies
  • Pretzel Bites
  • Chips & Salsa
  • Assorted Flatbreads
  • Create Your Own Tacos & Sliders

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort Beach Dessert Party

At Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort you can enjoy a private party on Clementine Beach from 10:00 PM to 12:30 AM, complete with delicious snacks and drinks, an incredible view of Magic Kingdom’s fireworks, and a midnight toast. While partying the night away, guests can indulge in treats like freshly prepared desserts, seasonal fruits, assorted cheeses, and a variety of wine and beer.

SeaWorld Orlando

On New Year’s Eve at SeaWorld Orlando, guests can enjoy all of the park’s awesome holiday entertainment during the day before taking in a special fireworks celebration at the end of the night! Available only on December 31, you can take in the park’s holiday shows one last time from the best seats available with the New Year’s Eve Show Seating Package, which includes one-time reserved seating at each of the following shows:

  • Clyde and Seamore’s Countdown to Christmas – 6:30 PM
  • O Wondrous Night – 8:00 PM
  • Shamu Christmas Miracles – 10:00 PM
  • Winter Wonderland on Ice – 11:25 PM
  • New Year’s Eve Fireworks Show – Midnight 

Guests with reserved seating will have to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to each show time in order to be escorted to the special viewing areas.

Universal Orlando

Much like Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort offers a variety of different ways to ring in the new year all across the resort from inside the park and at CityWalk to the resort hotels.

Universal Studios Florida

The Holiday Parade Character Dance Party kicks off the festivities on the Music Plaza Stage at 6:15 PM and continues all night long, wrapping up at 1:00 AM. Guests can enjoy a live band and DJ performing throughout the night before welcoming 2019 at midnight with confetti and an exciting display of pyrotechnics. Guests can also celebrate in the park’s Central Park area with a showing of the all-new Cinematic Celebration, a character dance party, live DJ, and a midnight celebration featuring pyrotechnics, fountains and lights. The party starts in Central Park at 8:15 PM and wraps up at 1:00 AM, when the park closes for the night.

Universal CityWalk

EVE at Universal Citywalk is a NYE event like no other, complete with unlimited gourmet dining, signature cocktails, access to six different nightclubs with live bands and DJs, and dancing all night long on Orlando’s biggest outdoor dance floor with music from DJ M-Squared! At midnight, partygoers can cheers to the new year with a champagne toast and an incredible fireworks display. The 21+ party runs from 8:00 PM to 2:00 AM, and parking is free after 6:00 PM.

Hard Rock Live

For an all-ages party at CityWalk Orlando, head over to Hard Rock Live for their Rock ’til the Drop 2019 New Year’s Eve Party! From 8:00 PM to 1:00 AM, partygoers can enjoy a dinner buffet, unlimited soda/water, a champagne toast at midnight, and live entertainment from Epic Evolve: The Decades Show.

Cost: $125 per adult and $65 per child in advance, $135 per adult and $75 per child on the day of event

VIP upgrades, available for guests who are 21 and older, include access to the VIP John Lennon Room and Terrace and select Open Bar along with the dinner buffet.

Loews Royal Pacific Hotel

Each of the Universal Orlando Resort Hotels has their own unique New Year’s celebrations to offer to guests with or without hotel reservations. Loews Royal Pacific Hotel has a mix of both family friendly and adults only events, so there is something for everyone! In the Islands Dining Room, guests can enjoy a New Year’s Eve Buffet from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. In addition to a delicious buffet the dining experience features special character appearances, face painting, a balloonist, live musicians, and hula dancers. Reservations for the New Year’s Eve buffet include access to the NYE Dessert Buffet in Orchid Court Lounge.

The Dessert Buffet in Orchid Court Lounge is open from 7:00 PM til midnight, and includes a DJ, dancing, party favors, and a champagne toast and balloon drop at midnight.

For an adults-only celebration, reserve your spot at Jake’s Best of 2018 Beer Dinner, hosted in the hotel’s Clipper Room from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Hard Rock Hotel

The Hard Rock Hotel’s Rock-In 2019 New Year’s Eve party begins at 8:00 PM in the hotel lobby. Festivities include a DJ playing fun party hits, character appearances, a Magic Man, face painting, a balloonist, and a live satellite feed of the countdown from Times Square that ends in a balloon drop and champagne toast at midnight.

In addition to the unique menu, the special dinner will feature appearances from Universal characters, face painting, and a balloonist.

Busch Gardens Tampa

On December 31, Busch Gardens Tampa will extend its hours and remain open until 1:00 AM so park-goers can ring in the new year with a thrilling celebration. In addition to riding the park’s wild roller coasters all night long, guests can jam out to upbeat tunes playing throughout the park before ending the year with a bang in Gwazi Park for a countdown to 2019 that ends with a spectacular fireworks display at midnight. Seating at Gwazi Park opens at 10:00 PM, with a DJ and live music keeping the crowd entertained until the countdown begins.

New Year’s Celebration at Taverna Opa

Authentic Greek eatery Taverna Opa will host a special New Year’s Eve celebration on December 31 from 9:00 PM til 2:00 AM that requires the purchase of an event ticket. The event includes family-style appetizers, a lamb chop surf & turf entree, a dessert station, and a champagne toast at midnight. Entertainment includes a DJ spinning hits all night, belly dancers, and a fire show. Guests can also access a cigar and liquor lounge on the restaurant’s patio for an additional cost. Regular dining will be available at Taverna Opa during the day starting at noon, but the dining room will close to customers at 8:00 PM to prepare for the evening’s festivities.

New Year’s Eve Celebration at Tapa Toro Tapas Bar & Paella Pit

Tapa Toro, located at ICON Orlando 360, is hosting a special New Year’s Eve celebration that includes traditional Spanish dining, live flamenco dancing, and a champagne toast at midnight. If you’d like to celebrate earlier in the evening, you can reserve a table during early seating from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Early diners will enjoy a four-course meal, priority seating for the flamenco show, and a champagne toast at 6:00 PM, which is midnight in Spain! Evening seating takes place from 9:00 PM til closing time and includes a five-course meal, a flamenco dinner show, and celebratory champagne toast at midnight.
