Everything You Need to Know About Universal Holidays

Everything You Need to Know About Universal Holidays

The holiday season could not come fast enough this year. Luckily, Universal Holidays bring extra cheer to the parks starting November 14. Holiday celebrations take place from the Wizarding World to Seuss Landing and everything in between.

Christmas in the Wizarding World

Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is just as magical as you would expect. The streets of London and Diagon Alley are decorated in festive trimmings and lights during Universal Holidays. Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees perform seasonal tunes at various times throughout the day in Diagon Alley. You’ll also find exclusive holiday treats and drinks available at select dining locations, including the return of hot butterbeer!

All of Hogsmeade’s storefronts are also decorated with garland and lights. Other seasonal delights include holiday performances from the Frog Choir and festive treats available throughout Hogsmeade.

The daily celebrations come to a thrilling end with the Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts. The incredible projection show casts festive scenes on the side of the castle.

Who-liday Celebrations in Seuss Landing

In Seuss Landing, all of Who-ville is covered in whimsical decorations in honor of every Who’s favorite holiday. Of course, it wouldn’t be the holidays in Whoville without appearances from the Grinch. He will be making his way through Seuss Landing to spread his “Grinchmas” spirit to guests each day.

Universal’s Holiday Experience featuring Macy’s Balloons

Although parades are still on hold at the park, guests can get a taste of Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s. In Universal’s Holiday experience, the elaborate floats and balloons are on display along a beautiful pathway.

In addition to holiday icons like reindeer and nutcrackers, you’ll see some of your favorite animated characters. The exhibits in the Holiday Experience are inspired by the Minions, Gingy from Shrek, and the penguins from Madagascar. At the end of the path, Santa is waiting for a socially distanced photo op with guests!

Universal’s Holiday Character Celebration at Universal Studios Florida

Universal’s Holiday Character celebration brings out some of your favorite animated characters for a holiday dance party. Festive floats carry familiar faces from Shrek, Madagascar, and Despicable Me through Universal Studios. When the procession stops, the crew puts on a special seasonal show that the whole family will enjoy.

Holiday Tribute Store

In the New York area of Universal Studios, a brand new holiday Tribute Store will be open this year. The store’s immersive rooms are incredibly decorated with holiday themes including a whole room dedicated to The Grinch. Festive gifts, treats, and other merchandise will be available for purchase all season long.

Holiday Tree Hunt

The Holiday Tree Hunt takes guests on a quest to find 16 festive trees hidden throughout select stores. First, grab a brochure from one of the participating locations and collect stamps for each tree you find along the way. When you’ve completed the entire hunt, swap your completed brochure for an exclusive Holiday Tree Hunt ornament.

Festive Entertainment

Along with all the other holiday fun, you can also catch special seasonal versions of Universal Studios’ street shows at various times throughout the day.

The Blues Brothers Holiday Show

In the New York section of Universal Studios, The Blue Brothers put on a daily show live on the outdoor stage on Delancy Street. During the holiday season, Jake and Elwood give their show a festive twist with snow, Santa hats, and a Christmas carol setlist with favorite songs like “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” and “Blue Christmas”.

Show Times: 10:55 AM, 12:10 PM, 1:10 PM, 2:50 PM, 3:50 PM

Marilyn Monroe & The Diamond Bellas

Also in the park’s New York section, you can catch Marilyn Monroe and her four back-up dancers (the Diamond Bella Dancers) performing classics like “Santa Baby” in her trademark sultry style. This nostalgic street show was unveiled at Universal Studios for the first time last holiday season.
