Universal Orlando to Open Volcano Bay Water Park

Universal Orlando to Open Volcano Bay Water Park

UPDATED 6/1/2015: Rumors about a hot new waterpark resort have been bubbling up around the Orlando area and Universal Orlando® Resort has made the announcement of Volcano Bay™ official. The groundbreaking of the waterpark started earlier this year and the world-class theme park team of Universal doesn’t expect anything but the best to come from this innovative waterpark.

Featuring a unique island created from the aftermath of a volcano, the layout of the tropical oasis park will feature rapids, slides, a lazy river and wave pool. Volcano Bay waterpark is sure to heat up quick as Universal combines the relaxation of a tropical island with the thrills of island exploration, creating a unique experience the entire family can enjoy.  A tentative opening date for this exciting new waterpark is anytime in 2017.

Wet ‘n Wild has been open for 38 years and still contains some of Orlando’s most thrilling water rides. The rumor is that either they will try to connect these two waterparks with a shuttle or that they will eventually shut down Wet ‘n Wild to build more resorts and another CityWalk-type center. The most popular or potentially all of the Wet ‘n Wild attractions would be added to Volcano Bay, if they were to build a new restaurant, shop and bar area like CityWalk® Orlando.

No matter what happens to the beloved Wet ‘n Wild, Universal plans to make Volcano Bay one of their most innovative parks yet. Containing thrilling water slides dropping from the very top of the volcano, a unique group tubing river rapids ride, state-of-the-art wave pool and a long, winding lazy river, Volcano Bay will hold a little piece of paradise for everyone to enjoy.  Keep checking back with Tickets2You.com for the latest updates on this new Universal Orlando park.
