The worlds tallest roller coaster ‘Skyscraper’ is coming to Orlando’s I-drive. Scheduled to open in 2016 and stand 570 feet tall, Skyscraper will be over 100 ft taller than the current record holder. Just recently the track design was released (see video below) as well as a few more details about the project. A 55-story glass elevator will take guests to an observation deck, where there will be retail & restaurant space. Topping out at 65 mph, the 3-minute ride will include loops, inversions and barrel rolls during its 50-story descent as well as take a detour through the retail part of the complex and skirt above I-Drive pedestrians. Skyscraper will sit inside a $200 million entertainment complex called the SkyPlex on International Drive and Sand Lake Road. Check back for more information, we will keep you up to date as it becomes available.
