Universal Orlando

As of May 29, fully vaccinated guests are no longer required to wear masks indoors or outdoors at Universal Orlando. Universal will not be requiring proof of vaccination, so it’s up to park-goers to operate on an honor system.

Attraction Updates

A new family-friendly attraction is now open in Kidzone at Universal Studios this summer! Dreamworks Destination is a first-of-its-kind experience featuring characters from films like Trolls, Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar, and more. The high-energy attraction is set against a nighttime sky inspired by the iconic opening sequence seen in every DreamWorks movie. Inside the colorful party atmosphere, you can join familiar characters for a lively dance party followed by special photo ops. Characters get the party started on stage by grooving along to catchy tunes from various DreamWorks soundtracks. Then, guests can take photos with famous faces in front of movie-themed backdrops. DreamWorks Destination is located in the former home of “A Day in the Park with Barney”, which closed earlier this year.

The big theme park news this month is the June 10 grand opening of the Jurassic World Velocicoaster at Universal Studios! The Jurassic World Tribute Store opened at Universal last month in anticipation of the exciting new thrill ride. Elsewhere in the resort, select rides and attractions are still closed for refurbishments or due to social distancing concerns. The following experiences are currently unavailable in the parks:

Universal Studios Florida
  • Curious George Goes to Town (Attraction)
  • Fear Factor Live (Attraction)
  • Universal’s Superstar Parade (Attraction)
Islands of Adventure
  • Me Ship, The Olive (Attraction)
  • The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle (Attraction)
  • Poseidon’s Fury (Attraction)
  • Storm Force Accelatron (Attraction)
