The Dark Arts Come to Life at Hogwarts Castle

Hogwarts Castle has become the perfect backdrop for some incredible evening entertainment at Universal Orlando. Popular shows include the festive “Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts” and the dazzling “Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle”. However, things are about to take a dark turn in the Wizarding World. The all-new “Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle” projection show makes its debut at Universal’s Islands of Adventure on September 14. It will run on select nights through November 15 in Hogsmeade.

The upcoming nighttime spectacular brings a whole new level of sorcery to the park. It illuminates the castle with dark creatures and villains including dementors, death eaters, Aragog, mountain trolls, and more. The show highlights the darkest parts of the Wizarding World and even features an appearance from the Lord Voldemort himself!

The show is a hypnotizing display of lights, music and special effects that light up the side of Hogwarts Castle. This spectacular will take on a much more intense tone than the previous evening shows. It challenges goodness and reflects the drama that occurs in the Wizarding World.

Guests have to find the inner strength to face the Dark Arts in moving scenes from the infamous film franchise. The villainous creatures take over until the Patronus (the Wizarding World’s most powerful charm) appears. The Patronus brings a bright light that combats the dark scenes.

Part of what helps guests feel the sinister drama of the show is the music. Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle’s soundtrack is an exclusive musical arrangement by the London Symphony Orchestra. The accompaniment is based on the original film scores by the legendary John Williams.

The show premiered at Universal Hollywood last year, but Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle will debut in Orlando next week.
